ALLSORTS ADVOCACY REACHES OUT TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN WEST SUSSEX

Sussex based LGBT and youth charity, Allsorts Youth Project http://www.allsortsyouth.org.uk has launched an Advocacy Service in West Sussex offering support to LGBT+ children and young people aged 11-19.

The Advocacy Service will listen, support and connect children and young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT+) or unsure of their gender and sexual identity.

Allsorts Advocate, Karla Coppendale says, “My aim is to help facilitate the information and choices young people have, and empower the young person to pick what option is best for them so they can learn to advocate for themselves.”

Alongside a range of specialist youth services offered by Allsorts, the Urgent Need Advocacy Service has been empowering young people in Brighton since 2016 and in 2019 the service supported 139 young people with a variety of problems ranging from economic hardship, insecure housing and homelessness, food & fuel poverty, immigration and asylum and LGBT+ discrimination.

The services are free, confidential and non-judgemental. To find out more, contact Karla at advocacy@allsortsyouth.org.uk or visit http://www.allsortsyouth.org.uk/what-we-do/advocacy
