This year, four teams from ANV Insurance are rowing 140 kilometres from Clifton in Oxfordshire to Tower Bridge in London over four days in September. They will be raising a minimum target of £25,000 for The AHOY Centre, a South East London charity.
The AHOY provides training opportunities for disabled, disadvantaged and at-risk young people to achieve and gain qualifications and giving them life & employment skills. This will give them the opportunity to be put on a career pathway and have a real future. The AHOY uses the medium of Sailing & Rowing to educate and train. They also run apprenticeships in general carpentry, boat building and activity leadership.
The ANV team will row an average of 35km per day, through 27 locks and five counties, arriving at Tower Bridge on the 20th September.
