Off The Fence celebrates the successful partnership with Sutton Winson , local Insurance Brokers & Risk Managers, in securing £5,000 in the broker supported, AVIVA Community Fund Competition. The finale event was at Manchester’s magnificent Monastery.
Aviva’s Phil Bayles hosted the event and talked proudly about his ongoing commitment to supporting community brokers. Phil was joined on stage by rugby world cup winner and community fund ambassador Will Greenwood who shared his own stories about the communities he’s involved with and why supporting these are so important to him.
This year, over £258,000 has been awarded to broker supported projects through the Aviva Community Fund.
The £5,000 will purchase 330 sleeping bags for the homeless in Brighton & Hove. Off The Fence is the only charity providing life- saving sleeping bags to the homeless community in Brighton & Hove. Last year over 650 were handed out.
The partnership with Sutton Winson Burgess Hill office is an ongoing relationship, which started with sponsoring of the Mobile Shower Van to provide better hygiene to rough sleepers. Sutton Winson staff are involved with the charity by assisting in the decorating of the Antifreeze centre, taking part in the annual sleep out in November, Woolly Hat Day and donations of clothes and food.
Corporate partnerships are very important to Off The Fence to ensure services can reach those most in need in Brighton & Hove.
