The Starr Trust was delighted with the success of its ninth charity Golf Day, held on May 16th at the prestigious Mannings Heath Golf and Wine Estate and which raised an incredible £6,176 to help young people in Brighton.
72 golfers from local businesses came together to enjoy a fantastic day out and a great chance to network. The day kicked off with bacon rolls on the outdoor terrace followed by a shotgun start on the beautiful 18-hole course. To add to the fundraising fun, golfers were able to buy string ‘Mulligans’ where they could move their golf ball the length of the string. There were also a variety of competitions throughout the day and the weather was superb.
The event was kindly organised by Paul Maidment and the main sponsors IEP Financial, Beales and Gardner & Scardifield helped to make the day a huge success with awards being given out, bids made on fantastic auction prizes and a delicious carvery dinner to finish off.
The winning team was Sam Hickmott’s with runners up Alan Pook followed by Tom Humphries. The winning individual was Stuart Dan with Rick Simpson taking 2nd place and winning Nearest the Pin.
Starr Trust event organiser Rosie Molloy told us “as ever we are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support and delighted at how much money we managed to raise. The staff at Mannings Heath deserve a massive thanks as they really went above and beyond to make the day run smoothly”.
