Brighton Housing Trust set to raise funds with local bands

A charity gig featuring some of Brighton’s best musical talents will take place on Tuesday 9th February to raise money for Brighton Housing Trust’s First Base Day Centre.

First Base provides a wide range of services to men and women sleeping rough in the City and needs to fundraise each year to keep the centre open.12524012_1008672215859024_8855264667047673466_n

The event at the Hope and Ruin pub in Queens Road includes the line-up of Dirty White Fever, Atlas Wynd and Hanz Rollo and is organised by Vickie Cuxson from LMagine, a new fundraising organisation raising money for charity through live music events.

Vicki says “I’ve chosen to support BHT as homelessness is an issue quite close to my heart as I’ve been in Brighton for many years now and always wished there was some way I could help those people I encounter on the streets.

“I have huge respect for BHT and the work they do to help those in desperate need of food, shelter and care and how they support individuals each step of the way to finding a home they can call their own”.

Jo Berry, BHT’s head of Fundraising says “First Base runs at a deficit each year and events like this are a brilliant way of raising money for the service and helping people who are sleeping rough to come off the streets. If it wasn’t for the support that we receive from the community First Base would be unable to continue to operate”.

The event will take place on Tuesday, February 9th from 7:30pm.
