Brighton & Hove Buses Back Pride With Gaydio

Brighton Pride

Managing Director Martin Harris said: “LGBTQ rights are human rights, yet people around the world still face daily discrimination and violence because of who they love, how they look, or who they are.

“Pride is rightly a celebration of how far we’ve come but it is also an important reminder that LGBTQ people continue to face hatred and abuse, both here in the UK and in other countries.

“Brighton and Hove Pride is a joyful display of the continuing strength of the diversity and inclusiveness of our city, a city that thousands of LGBTQ people have come to call home because they feel welcome here and that they belong.

“We’re delighted once again to be running buses alongside our Pride partners to transport people safely to and from the event and to stand with them against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.”

Gaydio will open its new Brighton studios and launch its new service on 97.8FM in the next few weeks.

Ian Wallace, Director of Gaydio Brighton, said: “We’re really excited to be participating in Pride this year and pleased to be partnering with Brighton & Hove Buses. For the first time, Gaydio DJ Ant Nichols will be providing the music on the Brighton & Hove Bus float throughout the parade.”

Metrobus and the Brighton & Hove Diversity bus will operate shuttle buses to and from the city centre and Preston Park on the day and from Waterhall Camp Site from Friday until Monday.
