The Brighton Housing Trust has laid down a formidable challenge to fundraising cyclists participating in the charity’s sponsored cycle ride taking place next Friday.
“Brighton to Paris in three days is for wimps!”, said BHT’s chief executive, Andy Winter. “The BHT Cycle Club does it in 24 hours” in reference to the more standard timeline of charity cycle rides to the French capital.
Andy Winter was speaking at the launch of the BHT Cycling Club’s 2016 Brighton to Paris Cycle Ride which aims to raise £3,000 for First Base Day Centre.
This year the BHT team leave Brighton around 20.00 on Friday 10th June (21.00 French time), and take the overnight ferry, arriving in Dieppe just before sunrise. They test themselves physically, and mentally, to get to the Eiffel Tower before sunset.
Andy Winter said: “We are so grateful to all the cyclists. It is a test of endurance but the bigger challenge is to raise lots of money for First Base. If you can sponsor one of the cyclists, it would be of great help to First Base.
“Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to BHT. They’ll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too.
“Please support Frances, Nigel and the team.”
