Epic Games Day at Worthing Rugby Club

Worthing Rugby Club is gearing up to host its first ever Epic Games Day on Saturday 15 June in partnership with St Barnabas House. Open to the public from 10am until late, families can expect a giant inflatable obstacle course as well as a host of other entertainment.

Worthing Rugby Club Juniors Manager and St Barnabas House Ambassador, Paddy Hooper, has been helping to organise the event.

Paddy said: “We have a huge array of inflatables coming which Caffyns and The Good Therapy Group have kindly sponsored. And we’re not just talking about your normal bouncy castles! You can expect a 100ft plus assault course including bungee runs and wipe-out games like you’ve seen on TV.

“Inflatables will only cost a pound a go or £10 for unlimited use all day. Height restrictions apply so for the smaller kids we have Nerf wars. A chance to run around and dive behind inflatables, what’s not to love?

“As well as the inflatables, we also have the Rugby 7s tournament kicking off from 10am, a delicious BBQ, beer and cider festival, firewalk and a performance by Big Yellow Taxi to round off the evening, finishing at midnight.

“Proceeds from the event will go to St Barnabas House, a local charity close to my heart. I hope that by getting the community involved, we can improve the quality of life for people receiving hospice care and have loads of fun at the same time.”

Don’t miss your chance to firewalk for St Barnabas House

From 6.30pm, St Barnabas House is inviting visitors to take on a 20ft firewalk as part of the Epic Games Day at Worthing Rugby Club.

Jo Bacon, Community Fundraiser Officer at St Barnabas House said:“We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of firewalkers and hope that this adrenaline-fuelled challenge will inspire people to do something they didn’t think possible. Many of those taking part will be walking on hot embers in memory of a loved one, whilst raising vital funds for the hospice at the same time.
