Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus will celebrate the National Health Service’s 70th birthday this Thursday (July 5) by offering NHS staff free travel all day.
Employees simply have to show their NHS staff ID card to board the bus for free. They don’t have to be travelling to or from work to take advantage of the offer and they can travel multiple times a day anywhere on the Brighton and Hove network. Our network covers Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Our buses cover a number of hospitals, including Royal Sussex County, Brighton General, Mill View, Montefiore, Nevill, Nuffield Health, Southlands and Princess Royal, as well as Hove Polyclinic and Portslade Health Centre.
Brighton & Hove Buses’ Managing Director Martin Harris said: “Like many others out there, we want to thank our dedicated, hard-working NHS staff.
“We have all had experience, either directly ourselves or through family members, of the brilliant and dedicated work of NHS staff – often working in extremely challenging conditions. I have huge respect for the dedication and service of NHS staff, past and present. The very least we can do is offer them free travel to mark this momentous day.
“I know that summer is a particularly busy time for them, with an influx of visitors and a number of different festivals going on. Their hard work deserves to be recognised.”
