On Sunday October 1st, local charity Impact Initiatives will be celebrating Older People’s Day, a part of the Older People’s Festival, once again at the Brighton Open Market, just off London Road, Brighton.
This FREE to attend event named the ‘Full of Life Fair’ especially created for anyone aged 50+, but open to all, has a programme of live music, singing and dance, all performed by people over 50. Included in the line- up and back by popular demand from last year’s celebration is the very young at heart Herbie Flowers (and his All Stars). Herbie now in late 70’s is still paying live gigs and very much still, full of life!
There will also be henna tattooists, face painters, massage and numerous stalls to invigorate and excite event goers of any age. The Full of Life Fair aims to highlight and celebrate the contributions people aged 50+ make to our unique City, in-line with the two- week festival.
Commenting on the day, Brighton Open Markets’ Manager Ash Kent said “ We are so excited to have the ‘Full of Life Fair’ and Herbie Flowers back as we had such a great day last year. The market has not been the same since and it was the enthusiasm from the traders that made us realise this event needs to happen again. We are looking forward to a busy day and grateful to Herbie for coming back to see us and play live again.”
Caroline Ridley from Impact Initiatives said “this is one of 96 events happening through-out the two- week period of the Older People’s Festival, and we are so pleased that the Open Market wanted to work with us again it’s a great venue. The atmosphere last year was definitely ‘full of life’ and this year will be even bigger “.
