This month the inaugural Brighton Charity Chairs Meeting, supported by the Association of Chairs, is launched in the city.
If you are a Chair or a Vice Chair of a charity or a not-for-profit, this “Better Chairs for Better Boards” event is for you.
You will be will be given the opportunity to hear two experienced speakers:
Matt Locke, Chair of Photoworks: Previously with Channel 4 and the BBC, Matt will talk about his experience as chair of a board with a view on great chairs (and not so great chairs) that he has worked with.
Matt will also address the challenges faced by chairs in the digital era. Photoworks is a Brighton-based charity dedicated to photography with an internationally recognised
programme connecting outstanding artists with diverse audiences to champion talent and ambition, including the Brighton Photo Biennial, the UK’s largest international photography festival. Plus ….
Lynne Gilbert, Trustee Brian Murtagh Charitable Trust, Advisor for Charities and Not for Profits: Lynne has extensive experience of the charity world and working with Chairs and CEOs. She will address the challenges faced by chairs on trustee recruitment and retention and provide some solutions.
In addition, John Williams, Vice Chair of the Association of Chairs, will talk briefly about its role and what it offers chairs.
