A newly wrapped “Paddle Bus” is hitting the streets – beautifully decorated with exotic flowers, palm trees and scenes of Brighton’s brilliant beach.
The Retro-Hawaiian bus will join Brighton & Hove Buses’ fleet as part of the company’s partnership with the city’s hugely popular Paddle Round the Pier Beach Festival.
The Festival – an annual charity event which takes place in the first weekend in July each year – has become the world’s largest free charity beach festival, attracting more than 50,000 fun lovers.
Paddle Round the Pier has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Brighton & Hove Buses.
Five years ago, the bus company was an early patron of the festival’s Access Beach, which gives disabled children and young adults the chance to take part in an array of water sports and activities.
Paddle Director Dave Samuel said: “We were delighted by the positive impact that the last Paddle Bus had. I don’t remember anyone not smiling when seeing it approach.
“This new tribute should give us all an early sense of summer fun – and we’re thrilled to see it roll out across the streets of the city.”
Brighton & Hove Buses Managing Director Martin Harris said: “We are big advocates of all the fun and excitement that the city has to offer and Paddle Round The Pier is a superb event which once again we’re delighted to support.
“The Paddle Bus is great way to promote the event all year round and, by sponsoring the Access Beach, we help everyone to join in the fun.”
