A local business is offering an antidote to Black Friday this year, by donating to charity as well as offering discounts to their customers.
Brighton-based gardener’s gift shop What You Sow, recently described by The Telegraph as ‘achingly cool’, are bucking the usual Black Friday trend. They are pledging that for every single item sold via whatyousow.co.uk on Black Friday 2017 (Friday 24th November) the company will donate a gift to children’s lunch club charity Chomp.
Chomp is a charity based in Brighton which provides free healthy lunches and fun activities to children and their families during the school holidays. These families come under extra pressure at Christmas with the cost of gifts, toys and treats for their children all mounting up.
Over the past few years, What You Sow has donated colouring and activity books plus toys and musical instruments to the charity – these gifts were then wrapped up and given to the children at the Christmas lunch club. This year the company hopes to donate even more.
