ONCA Announce New Community Art Exhibition – SWAY

ONCA_Saw_exhibition (002)This April O N C A is delighted to partner with artist Solange Leon to host SWAY – a community art exhibition exploring identity, migration and borders.

It is an inclusive, creative response to Brexit, Trump and the wider political and environmental challenges we currently face. The main installation is a sway of paper swallows, designed by Solange Leon & Dirk Engels, suspended in the centre of the gallery, which the public can add to over the course of the exhibition.

Visitors will also be invited to add their own ‘voice’ to a new dawn chorus arranged by Tonmeister John Warburton – the soundscape will also incorporate original songs from more than 24 different countries that Warburton produced for the British Council.

Photographs from the refugee camp in Calais by Lilian Simmonson will also be on display.

The exhibition is supported by a vibrant programme of events about the migration of fauna, flora, animals, humans, ideas, and food from RSPB, Sea Shepherd, Hummingbird, Old Tree Brewery, Mick Taylor, Robin Gorna and Elise Wach.

People can support the project by sponsoring a bird: https://www.gofundme.com/sway-community-art-project
