Staff at Primark in Brighton held a number of fundraising activities across Saturday 12 – Sunday 13 May to raise money for BHT.
The event, which was organised by Zoe Todd-Martell, included a bake sale, a raffle and a ‘Guess The Manager’ baby pictures game. As well as raising £300 for First Base Day Centre, which provides food, showers, health care services, and person-centred advice for people who are rough sleeping in the city, the staff also donated items from the day centre’s Amazon Wish List such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel, towels and sun cream. All of these items have a significant impact on the health, wellbeing and self-esteem of people who are rough sleeping in the city.
Zoe commented that Primark Brighton often supports national charities, but that it was really great to get behind a charity which is on the store’s doorstep. She praised the staff for fully supporting the cause.
Sara Peskett, Fundraising Officer at BHT, said: “We are ever so grateful to Zoe, and the staff at Primark Brighton for the work that they put into organising the fundraising weekend, and for their generous donation. As a charity we rely on support from the local community. Every donation makes a huge difference.”
