Today, on Tuesday 15th May, RadioReverb, Brighton’s not for profit radio station, took part in the Community Media Association’s Mental Health Minute. The event recognised Mental Health Awareness Week and Radio Audio Week, taking place from 14-19th May.

At 10.59am, RadioReverb came together with other radio stations across the UK to play a one-minute message that raised awareness about mental health. The message featured the voices of David Harewood, Dame Judi Dench, Lady Gaga, Prince Harry, the Duke of Cambridge and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Station director Tracey Allen said “RadioReverb are proud to be taking part in such an important national campaign. Our first priority as a not-for-profit radio station is to support the Brighton & Hove community, so we consider raising awareness of mental health to be very important.

“Taking part in the #MentalHealthMinute is part of RadioReverb’s continued effort to encourage positive attitudes towards mental health after we launched a show dedicated to the subject early this year.”

In January 2018, RadioReverb launched ‘Mental Health Matters’, a ground-breaking new radio show promoting positive attitudes to mental health. Hosted by Counsellor and Dramatherapist, Bruce Guthrie, the monthly show aims to inspire better mental health through meaningful interviews and health information.

The latest new episode of Mental Health Matters will air on Sunday 10th June at 3pm.
