RadioReverb’s community radio show created and performed by people with learning disabilities, Carousel Radio, is launching a live show at this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival on Saturday 14th May from 1pm – 4pm.
Carousel Radio, also known as Shut Up & Listen, is a monthly show which presents spoken word, stories, poems and features by people with a learning disability and they will be bringing their new interactive show to the Brighton Spiegeltent Garden in May.
The Carousel Radio team have written some dramatic radio scenes and are inviting audiences to help perform them, cue the sound effects, be the narrator or even become a character.
The show will be performed at the well known Fringe Venue which is situated on the Old Steine, Brighton, as part of The Brighton Fringe festival and will be a free entry performance.
The team of learning disabled experts are used to performing a new show on a new theme each month on radio and are looking forward to showing Fringe audiences how it works.
Carousel Radio is broadcast monthly on the first Sunday of the month 2pm, repeated the following Monday at 8am, Wednesday 4pm and Friday 5am on Brighton’s community radio station, RadioReverb broadcasting on 97.2FM, on DAB and online.
The radio show is created thanks to Carousel, an award winning registered charity which has been working since 1982 to help people with a learning disability to reach their potential in the arts.
