Ride The Wave For Business Is Back

Ride the Wave is a series of affordable events to support every business, from those just starting out to established companies. Now in its sixth year, it offers practical help to everyone in the city who wants to launch or grow a business.

Running from May to November 2017, Ride the Wave is funded and led by Brighton & Hove City Council, and designed and delivered by Brighton & chamber_email header_04Hove Chamber of Commerce.

The programme includes practical, interactive workshops and peer support, as well as offering attendees a mentoring session with a choice of business experts.

This programme will include 11 workshops and offer places for 250 businesses. There will be a series of workshops for people wanting to start a business and for those in their first year or two of trading, and for existing businesses wanting to overcome the barriers to growth. There will be individual workshop events providing tailored help and support with tendering and winning contracts, how to pitch and present your businesses, and how to market your social enterprise.

“We are confident that there is something for everyone within this Ride the Wave series. Last year we had a 100% satisfaction rate, and we know that this series will be just as well received and valuable. The programme is designed to be inclusive, friendly, exciting and above all useful” Sarah Springford, Director, Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce.

The aim of the programme is to provide core skills training for businesses and to connect them with a network of support to help them to grow and prosper.

Cllr Alan Robins, Chair of Brighton & Hove City Council’s Economic Development & Culture Committee, says: “Ride the Wave workshops offer business support and advice for as little as £10 a session and since launching in 2011 have helped hundreds of entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life. The city is well known and celebrated for its large number of independent small businesses and the continuation of the Ride the Wave programme means even more people who are contributing to our local economy will have the opportunity to benefit from a dedicated pool of expertise.”
