Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) is challenging runners to sign up and race in the Brighton marathon as part of ‘Team GOSH’ this April, to raise much needed funds for seriously ill children from across the UK who are cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Registration is now open for the event, one of the UK’s most popular marathons, which takes place on the 14th April 2019. GOSH Charity will provide support and materials full of inspirational tips and advice to help runners fundraise. By taking on the Brighton Marathon, runners could help GOSH Charity to fund pioneering medical research, provide state of the art medical equipment, fund support services for children and their families and support the essential rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital.
Participants will enjoy the vibrant surroundings as they make their way around Preston Park, before taking in the best of the fantastic city centre. Runners will feel the love from the side lines, with GOSH Charity supporters cheering them on, before finishing on the seafront by the iconic Brighton Pier, where they will be met by the GOSH Charity team for a post-race reception.
Laura Savory, Head of Community Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity, says: “We really hope that people will get involved in this year’s Brighton Marathon on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. It will be a beautifully scenic run, and we will be out in force on the day to support our wonderful Team GOSH runners. All of the money raised will make a huge difference to seriously ill children from across the UK.”
To help make your run a success, GOSH Charity will send runners a digital welcome pack full of fundraising tips, advice and materials, a complimentary professional running vest and access to professional training plans.
