The Sussex Cricket Foundation are now recruiting for students for their Level 2 Multi-Sports programme, for its September 2017 intake.
The Sussex Cricket Foundation would like to hear from any 16-18 year olds who would be interested in signing up to this 1-year course. The course is free and is open to both males and females, of all abilities.
Sussex Cricket Foundation are halfway through their first year of delivering the course to the current crop of students, and have now opened the application process for students who are looking for pathways in to sport following their final year in school.
The course is conducted at the home of Sussex Cricket, The 1st Central County Ground, and is delivered in partnership with Portslade Aldridge Community Academy, where anyone who needs to retake GCSE Maths or English, will be able to do so within their sports/classroom facilities.
Gary Wallis-Tayler, SCF Competitions & Education Projects Officer who leads the project said: “This educational programme is a fantastic way of combining sport with academic study, and with the work experience that is on offer, this gives students a brilliant insight into a sport orientated working environment.”
The Level 2 Cambridge Technical in Sport is a way of earning a distinctive qualification within sport and is a positive step in the right direction for anyone who is looking to pursue a career in the sporting industry. Throughout the academic year the students’ complete various units such as practical sport, leadership, fitness testing and anatomy where they have the opportunity to expand their knowledge across a range of sports, within a professional sporting environment. Also built into the students timetable is a range of multi-sport activities, high-quality work experience placements and a Level 1 Coach Support Worker course, complementing the students’ curriculum vitae with additional industry experience and sports qualifications.
