South East Dance are inviting people from a non-dance background to become audience ambassadors as one way of removing barriers to contemporary dance and prompt discussion about the process behind it.
Piloted in 2015, Audience Ambassadors is now advertising for volunteers for its fourth round, with internationally award-winning choreographers Igor and Moreno.
This July, Igor and Moreno invite you to observe the creation of their exciting new dance show ‘SMOKE’, exploring what happens to perceptions when the senses of smell, sound, and sight are lessened or enhanced. As part of a selected audience, you will be welcomed in to their rehearsals – where they will be playing with music, movement, space which at points fills with fog, and smells of incredible scents created by an expert perfume artist… all to ignite your imagination. You will help the artists to make this piece, by sharing how you experience it.
Join them for complimentary dinner and drinks; attend a rehearsal and come to see a work-in-progress performance. You’ll share the whole experience with a group of other ‘ambassadors’ just like yourself.
You would need to attend all three dates below:
• Monday 3 July (Evening) – 6pm to 8.30pm dinner and drinks with the artists
• Wednesday 5 July (Evening) – 6pm to 8.30pm rehearsal
• Friday 7 July (Evening) – 6pm – 8.30pm work in progress performance
Please let them know if you have any access needs. South East Dance will do their best to provide support on request. Interested? Have questions?
