A team of staff from St Catherine’s Hospice are pulling on their walking boots, and getting ready to tackle the Surrey Three Peaks Challenge this June.
The hospice team, nicknamed the Surrey Strollers, is made up of nursing and HR staff, who will walk 13 miles to raise money for the local, terminally ill people they care for.
Taking place on Saturday 24 June 2017, The Surrey Three Peaks Challenge takes in glorious Surrey countryside including: ancient woodland, rivers, ponds and waterfalls and will require the team to conquer Holmbury Hill, Leith Hill and Box Hill during their walk.
Penny Jones, Director of Care Services at St Catherine’s added: “We all enjoy walking and love the Surrey countryside, so this opportunity provides us with a challenge, as well as a chance to raise money and awareness of the services the hospice provides in Surrey. We’re all busy burning up the miles training, but we’d be spurred on even more by the support of our local community. We’d be really grateful for any donations, and every donation given will help us provide expert end of life care when it’s needed most.”
The Surrey Strollers are hoping to raise £1,600 for their efforts.
