T.S Nautilus, Nautical Training Corps (N.T.C) have been awarded £700 by The Pavers Foundation, the employee led charitable trust created by family-owned shoe retailer Pavers Shoes. Emma Blake, Assistant Manager at Pavers in Brighton, applied through the Foundation’s employee grant initiative to support the organisation, which she has been a part of for over 25 years.
Founded by Catherine Paver in 1971, Pavers established the Foundation in 2018 to enable charitable giving by the business and its 1700 staff. Through the Foundation, the amount pledged to good causes by Pavers has risen to £2.5m. Each staff member can put forward causes close to their heart which relate to health, education, or community. Since launching, the Pavers Foundation has awarded a total of £581,953.
T.S Nautilus, N.T.C is a Brighton based youth organisation, helping young people aged 8 -18 reach their full potential through nautically based training. Emma volunteers as an officer for T.S Nautilus and applied for the grant to help fund a ‘Boating Skills Weekend’ for some of the young Cadets.
T.S Nautilus has been offering challenging, exciting activities for young people since 1944 and today has a total of 250 Cadets.
The non-profit group relies heavily on donations, fundraising and membership fees to support the upkeep of the organisation and its training events. For activities like the ‘Boating Skills Weekend’, Cadets will usually fundraise themselves through sponsored events or the Ships Management Committee will raise money through stalls, events in the local community.

Thank you to the Pavers Foundation”.
