Find your leg warmers, get out the day glow, Martlets UV Zumbathon party is back.
Hundreds of Zumba loving locals will be getting out their day glow leg warmers ready for Martlets Zumbathon on Friday 3rd March at the Sallis Benney Theatre.
The sponsored dance marathon raises money for Martlets, helping Brighton & Hove’s hospice provide life changing hospice care. Hosted by Brighton Zumba there’s still time to join the party.
Over the years, the popular event has raised more than £50,000 for local charity Martlets Hospice. Keeping the party going along with her team of qualified Zumba instructors is Sherryn Watkin of Brighton Zumba.
Inspired by her own experience of hospice care Sherryn got involved with Martlets Zumbathon. Sherryn explained “My Mum died from cancer in 2012, and she spent her last days being cared for by the hospice up in Watford, they were amazing. We were able to stay the night in her room, wrapped up in blankets, drinking tea. It was a terrible year, incredibly hard but the hospice made a huge difference to us at this time. I loved what they did for us and I know Martlets does the same thing here in Brighton. When I started organising Zumbathons, I decided it was important to support just one charity and make the event a huge success. Zumbathon night always flies by, it has such a phenomenal atmosphere, a real three-hour party!
There are still limited places available for Martlets Zumbathon at in Brighton on Friday 3rd March from 7.30 – 11.00pm, entry £16. Enter online www.themartlets.org.uk.events
