The nationally recognised charity Brighton and Hove Impetus is recruiting more volunteers for their Community Navigation service, linked to GP practices across the city.
The volunteers help people improve wellbeing and reduces isolation by connecting them with services and activities in their local community.
The charity is cited as an example of volunteering best practice in a national report released last week by the King’s Fund, Volunteering in General Practice King’s Fund report
New Community Navigators will join an existing team, receive extensive training, develop new skills and only need to offer 4 hours a week to apply.
“Community Navigators are a central and essential part of our service” said service manager Clair Rowe. “Many UK organisations are now interested in learning about our volunteer service model and our outstanding volunteer team”
